Lord Kartikeya,  the elder son of Lord Shiva, is worshipped as the Lord of Warriors. His courage and skill in warfare won him accolades as he destroyed demon after dreaded demon.

The Lord here is flanked by his two consorts, Devasena and Valli. He sits on His vehicle, the peacock. The sculpture is beautifully balanced by a graceful arch which gives this piece of art a sense of completeness.
