| TIPU SULTAN
In the 18th Century, as the British were busy gaining their
imperial foothold in India, they heard a roar of a tiger so
fierce that it could not be ignored. The tiger was the fearless
king of Srirangapattinam, Tipu sultan. Angered
at having to lose one’s motherland to alien hands, Tipu
launched a tirade against foreign rule. The imperialists had
to gather all known forces of army and political strategy
to subdue the echo of this roar. This beautiful painting of
Tipu sultan pays homage to this brave and fierce son of the
soil who gave up his life rather than his honour to strangers.
