SHRI GANESH
Very few deities like Ganesh have made such a deep and loving
impact on the Hindu mind. He is a kind of God one feels love
for instead of awe or fear. This elephant headed God is the
destroyer of all obstacles and endower of intelligence. No
good deed is commenced before praying to Ganesh first.
In this exquisite glass painting, Ganesh is shown as writing
the text of the enormous epic poem, Mahabharat. It is said
that the narrator, Veda Vyasa, an extremely intelligent being,
only approached Lord Ganesh to write the epic as he narrated
it. He would not trust other God or human being for such a
stupendous task. Mahabharata is the longest epic poem in the
world and is longer than Illiyad and Odyssey put together.
